Upper or Lower Blepharoplasty

A blepharoplasty is performed to remove excess skin, muscle, and/or fat of either the upper or lower eyelid. This is most commonly performed as an out-patient with either a sedative or general anesthesia. The surgery is intended to provide a crisp upper eyelid fold and a smoothing of the lower eyelid.

Aesthetic eyelid surgery is performed on adults of all ages. Some people have eyelid surgery to correct problems that are a result of aging, while others have inherited traits that cause them to seek treatment as early as their 20s or 30s.

Time in surgery: Varies
Time off from work: 7-10 days
